Trust Account Payment

  • The rules of professional conduct for Firms in the State of Maryland require that unearned fees advanced by clients to Firms be kept in a separate account until the fees are earned and/or the representation is terminated by either party (“Trust Account”). This is because funds held in a trust account are generally protected from a law firm's creditors and cannot be spent until earned. For the purposes of this Agreement, Legal Fees are earned when client is presented with the bill of completed services for the billing period and Client acknowledges or accepts the assessed fees.

  • Any matters requiring twenty (20) or more hours will require an advanced payment of services to be held in Trust.

The Firm will notify you in writing if advanced payment is required and will tell you a specific amount to pay.

Please contact lh@lhlaw.law‍ ‍if you would like to pay for services in advance. The firm will advise you what payment to make.
